An extension that reads web pages has to earn your trust. Here is exactly what Keenshield does with what it sees, in plain words.

It never blocks or interrupts
Keenshield only shows a number on its icon. It doesn't stop pages from loading, cover them with warnings, or pop anything up.
Ordinary pages: only the address is sent
On a page that doesn't ask you to agree, pay, subscribe or share personal details, the extension sends the web address only — checked for things like lookalike domains — and the page's text goes nowhere.
We read the company's pages, not yours
To score the company behind a site, Keenshield's own server visits that company's public pages — its homepage, terms, privacy, refund, cancellation and pricing pages — the way anyone could. It never sees what you saw, and nothing about you is stored with the score.
Decision pages: text is analyzed, then discarded
On checkout, sign-up, terms and similar pages, the visible text is sent to Keenshield's server and analyzed by Anthropic's Claude AI. We don't save the text. We keep the score and reasons for that page's address — without anything after a "?" — so the next person gets the answer instantly.
Your data doesn't train AI
Anthropic does not use data sent through its commercial API to train its models by default.
Photos are cleaned first
Photos you scan are resized in your browser before upload, which strips hidden location data. They're analyzed and not kept.
No ads. No selling your browsing.
Keenshield has no ads and never sells or shares what you browse. There are no affiliate deals, and no business can pay to change its score.
What we do keep
A random install or browser ID to count free scans (or a count on your account if you sign in), a short-lived count of requests per network address to stop abuse, and your email only if you join the list or send us a message below.

Keenshield points out what's worth a second look. It can miss things, and it isn't a lawyer.
